Bled lies in the north-east part of Slovenia at the foothills of Julian Alps. It is one of the most beautiful Alpine holiday resorts. Bled and its surroundings offer a wide range of summer and winter activities. Youth Hostel Bledec is a great starting-point for many of them. Some footpaths lie in the immediate vicinity of the hostel (path around the lake, path to the castle, path to Vintgar, Zasip, Podhom, Lower and Upper Gorje…). It is also a good starting point for many cycling and other trips (Vintgar , Pokljuka, the river Radovna valley, Mojstrana, Bohinj…). Most of Bled agencies, which organize trips (Bohinj, Ljubljana, Postojna cave, the river Soča valley, Kranjska Gora…), will pick you up at the reception door and take you back there.
After a tiring day a relaxation in Bled pools and saunas feels good. You can treat yourself with massages and therapies or explore nightlife and try your luck in
Casino Bled.
